On July 19, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially announced the evaluation results of the 2023 National Development Plan for New Biomaterials for Medical Use:Eco Polymer, Weigao Group, the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, Soochow University, and other partners were successfully selected for the first batch of projects, which will lead to revolutionary changes in the field of biomaterials for medical use.

The project, titled "Research, Development, Production, and Application of PMP Hollow Fiber Membrane for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation," aims to lead the development of new biomaterials for medical use in China. As a life-saving technology for patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure, ECMO requires a significant amount of special materials, especially the membrane materials used for oxygenation.
